At Limber Prosthetics, every patient story reflects the impact of innovation and the resilience of those living with limb loss. For Hector—a dedicated soccer coach in Oakdale, California—the Limber UniLeg has been more than a prosthesis. It has been a way to return to the community he loves with increased confidence, freedom, and peace of mind.
Meet Hector
“My name is Hector… I am a coach here in Oakdale, California with the Oakdale Soccer Club and I’ve been coaching for 13 years here in Oakdale,” Hector shares. Currently leading an under-17 girls’ team, Hector has guided his players from the U13 level, watching them grow as athletes and leaders. “The girls I coach, they’re just phenomenal… they’re great student-athletes, all 4.0, and they have a good future ahead of them if it’s either on the field or not.”
For Hector, Oakdale is more than a place to coach—it’s home. He first played on the same field at age 12 and, nearly two decades later, continues giving back as a coach and mentor. “This is my home. I work in my backyard and I’ve been here 17 years actually playing and coaching. So I know the town really well.”

Introducing the Limber UniLeg
When Hector was introduced to the Limber UniLeg by his prosthetist, Trevor Grimbleby, CPO at AMP Group, he wasn’t sure what to expect. “He told me it was 3D printed. In my head I was thinking, I don’t know if that’s gonna work because seven years in a prosthesis, the process has been kind of similar every time. It takes forever, a long time. But the UniLeg was made just like that—measurements were taken, it was sent over to the AMP Group and the moment I put it on, it felt like I had been wearing it a couple years, and that never happens.”
Trevor saw the UniLeg as a way to give Hector something he had been missing: a prosthesis that was lightweight, affordable, and built for real-world activities. “The ability to provide a legitimate, affordable backup leg was something I felt was overlooked in the industry,” Trevor explains. For Hector, it was more than a backup—it quickly became his daily prosthesis.
Efficient and Precise
What stood out most to Hector was how natural the UniLeg felt from the very beginning. “Usually when I get a new prosthesis, it takes me a couple weeks to get used to it. But this one was right away. I knew it was the perfect fit.”
That efficiency is no accident. Limber’s fully digital workflow and quick turnaround ensure patients spend less time adjusting and more time living. As his prosthetist, Trevor, notes, the UniLeg “doesn’t compare to anything else—it’s an industry shaker.”
Freedom and Peace of Mind
With the UniLeg, Hector has rediscovered everyday freedoms that once felt out of reach. “I can now take a shower standing up. All the carbon fiber devices, all the metal in most prosthetic legs run the risk of getting corroded. And with this 3D printed leg by Limber, the UniLeg, I don’t have to worry about that anymore.”![]()

That peace of mind extends to coaching and travel. “I went to the ocean, to San Luis Obispo for a soccer tournament with the girls that I coach, and I was able to fully go into the water with no issues. With the other prosthetics I have had in the past, I would barely jump and it would just feel like I was coming down hard, but with the UniLeg, I could jump, and when I came down, I had no issues.”
The performance benefits didn’t stop there. “I even ran one day—no issues the next day. I’m back to just running a light jog with no issues. Just like I would have if I had two legs. And now I feel like I’m just back to my old self.”
Trevor has seen this same enthusiasm in other patients as well. “His first reaction was, ‘I feel like I have my foot and ankle again,’” Trevor recalls of an early UniLeg fitting. For both clinician and patient, the device has exceeded expectations.
Looking Ahead
Hector’s story is one of dedication—to his family, his community, and the athletes he mentors. With the UniLeg, he has a prosthesis that supports his active lifestyle and allows him to lead by example on and off the field.
For Trevor, the UniLeg is proof that digital innovation can transform care for a wide spectrum of patients. “It can be a lightweight option for older patients who are becoming frailer, or it can be a versatile, everyday device for younger, more active users,” he says.
Together, Hector and Trevor’s stories highlight what makes the UniLeg so impactful: it’s not just a prosthesis, but a tool that restores confidence, enables activity, and helps people get back to the lives they love.
